Gosh that man can draw like a crackerjack.
I like the way you draw rats and mice about as much as I like your clouds.
Ricky,
Me too…but if you’re into drawings of mice and rats, may I invite you to look at my comic strip “Mad Mouse” on GoComics. Hopefully with the endorsement of Tony, the master, himself… thanks a millionaire!
Here’s the spot: http://www.gocomics.com/mad-mouse
You show me yours I’ll show you mine, http://fromearthcomics.blogspot.com/
Cool stuff, Ricky! I’m appreciative of the drawing style… and by drawing I mean with a pen, held in your hand (or foot – if you’re Christy Brown), putting images on paper.
Are you looking for syndication… alternative weeklies…
underground comic books… what? Or are you just a hobbiest grouping up with the Maakies?
I actually get published in a small local paper. I got started with them after winning the annual comic contest but now I do a few illustrations. http://thescope.ca/ , just search ricky king or check out the rant farm. And I always want to do more of course! How about you? I’m finding Mr. Millionaires site to be a good spot to meet other like minded artists!
Ricky,
No more reply thread, so I jumped up… I checked that out… nice. I actually work for my small local weekly as well – as a graphic artist. It’s mostly layout and advertising, but I’ve got all the creative license I want. I’ve put a few strips in, but not Mad Mouse. I’d like to get MM in some alternative rags. I just printed Volume #1… my first comic book. I’m into the serial thing, so underground comic books is where I’m heading – for now. Comixpress is the printshop. I just ok’d my proof, so it should go online soon. I’ll put a link up for those interested in checking it out when that time
comes. Yeah… I agree on meeting other like-minded artists here – however, you’re the first, ha! Good to hook up with you!
Tony, I may have to drop what I’m doing and go!
It’s about time I went back to the Big Apple. Will you be there? Or more importantly,
will there be beer?
I believe they will be serving beer.
Bud, Sam Adams, Heinekin… Rolling Rock, PBR…
Olde Froshingsloth?
Drillers?
Sadly, obligations & finances must keep me here in LA. However, in the event that you have an event here in your own backyard I will definitely attend.
Haha, “Really drunk for 3 days.”
I kinda want to do that now.. Like, I’m not a drinker at all… But I’ve never thought about BINGE drinking. That could be awesome.
But what does the “Aah” “B-M-P” ect mean?
What?
I think Zack’s referring to your poster. The sketches of Drinky’s beak forming sounds and the corresponding vowels or consonants underneath? Is that what they illustrate? I wondered too! Have a wonderful time in NYC Tony! REALLY want to go but it just ain’t gonna happen this time. How often do you show at Scott Eder Gallery?
Those drawings are from the diagram I made for the animators on the Drinky Crow Show at Adult Swim.
I believe that’s an animator’s chart for mouth movements.
With the comments on Tony’s drawing of mice, clouds, etc. I am reminded of something Mr. Millionaire told me a few years ago… that he “liked” the way that MK Brown drew hands. At the time, I thought that was an odd comment… but now I understand. I really miss MK and her National Lampoon glory years. She was brilliant… and nuts… much like Tony.
I’m doing signings in Peekskill, Burlington, Framinghan, Sudbury, Plankton, Milton, Albany, Scranton, Joy-town, Marblehead, Crustington, The Wayside Inn, Clear-creek, Putston, Pillham, Whenham, Shintellary, Parleygonderting, Wisterferrilydown, Mulberrilygondenshire, Ferringtonship, Droonergestontontinester, Meltington, Frissberwood, Wackydoodle-land, Flubberton, Crenshingtam, Flub, Bortinglass, Milindiniss, Silversliver, Woodblockingclock, Nud, Strampleberrygodge, Whistletoningtonderstables, Frebblegubbs, Shingletennereffingberryfile, Fferrillistletondown, and Nor. DON’T MISS IT!
See you in Flubberton. There is a great Cracker Barrel restaurant on the outskirts of town and they have Ballantine Ale on tap. I’ll buy you lunch.
I’ve been there! I got so shit faced, I woke up in Whistletoningtonderstables.
I used to live in Parleygonderting.
Isn’t that a suburb of Flub?
Yes, I believe so. Lovely people… the Flubonians.
I wish I lived in NYC! Dang!
Where can you get a copy of this bootiful poster?
Thanks, I already have one.
Free at the show only!
Doesn’t anybody laugh at this ?
At what?
Chief Boomerang!!!! Are You Captain Ed Grey????
I hope it is. I haven’t seen him since he sunk his schooner off the coast of North Virginia. Can’t remember the name of the ship.
It is! It’s Capt. Ed Gray! What was the name of the schooner, Ed?
Capt. Gray responds in email :
“Different Drummer”
I’m not going to be the only lady in attendance, am I?
