  1. Kevin Joyce says:

I didn’t know Gabby was the ship’s bosun until this strip.

    What is Drinky?

  2. Nic Farra says:

    The bo’sun’s name was Gabby
By Christ was he so grabby
    He’d drink the booze
    No matter whose
    And burble like a babby!

  3. Paul Wilson says:

We do have such gadgets to detect brain activity . Brain surgery in this strip has always been quite disasterous !

  4. Goofy Gorilla says:

Somehow I have a craving for coconut milk.

  5. Bristow says:

Cap’n… how could ye? Sellin’ ye primate companion off for scientific experiments, then fuckin’ the whole thing up with one too many taps of ye hammer. Boobie!

  6. biff says:

What do you call the little comic underneath the main one? Whatever its called, this one was hilarious

    • TonyMillion says:

I’ve heard it called a fumetti. I just call it the bottom strip. The trick is to sometimes put the better joke in the bottom strip, so that the reader feels he or she has “discovered” it. It’s like a secret joke, you feel that most people don’t go all the way down there.

      • Paul Wilson says:

An oily (early) strip was of King Louis XIV (or XVI ?) who moved into the whale after Jonah was evicted. He looked around, called in his decorators who discussed the matter -and they did an excellent job. All in 4 panels.

I THINK the main strip was of French crocodiles sinking Gabby’s and Drinky’s ship and after the two had drowned, Drinky says dying is like getting drunk…

  7. K. says:

Last night, I tried to use 100% of the muscles in my body. With yogic concentration, I managed to tighten every opposing pair. I was reduced to a cramped, immobile ball. There is a lesson here somewhere…
